Warning to the House of David about Justice
Jeremiah delivers a warning to the royal house of Judah to judge with justice every morning and rescue the oppressed from the hand of their oppressor. If not, the Lord's wrath will break out like an unquenchable fire. The Lord turns against those who reign over the valley and trust in their fortress, and will punish them according to the fruit of their deeds.
Jeremia 21,11-14
11And to the royal house of Judah: Hear the word of the LORD!
וּלְבֵית֙ מֶ֣לֶךְ יְהוּדָ֔ה שִׁמְע֖וּ דְּבַר־יְהוָֽה׃
12House of David, this is what the LORD says: Administer justice every morning; rescue the plundered from the hand of the oppressor. Otherwise my wrath will break out like fire and burn with no one to quench it, because of the evil you have done.
בֵּ֣ית דָּוִ֗ד כֹּ֚ה אָמַ֣ר יְהוָ֔ה דִּ֤ינוּ לַבֹּ֙קֶר֙ מִשְׁפָּ֔ט וְהַצִּ֥ילוּ גָז֖וּל מִיַּ֣ד עוֹשֵׁ֑ק פֶּן־תֵּצֵ֨א כָאֵ֜שׁ חֲמָתִ֗י וּבָעֲרָה֙ וְאֵ֣ין מְכַבֶּ֔ה מִפְּנֵ֖י רֹ֥עַ *מעלליהם **מַעַלְלֵיכֶֽם׃
13I am against you, you who dwell above the valley, you rock of the plateau, declares the LORD—you who say, "Who can come down against us? Who can enter our dwellings?"
הִנְנִ֨י אֵלַ֜יִךְ יֹשֶׁ֧בֶת הָעֵ֛מֶק צ֥וּר הַמִּישֹׁ֖ר נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה הָאֹֽמְרִים֙ מִֽי־יֵחַ֣ת עָלֵ֔ינוּ וּמִ֥י יָב֖וֹא בִּמְעוֹנוֹתֵֽינוּ׃
14I will punish you as your deeds deserve, declares the LORD. I will kindle a fire in her forest, and it will consume everything around her.
וּפָקַדְתִּ֧י עֲלֵיכֶ֛ם כִּפְרִ֥י מַעַלְלֵיכֶ֖ם נְאֻם־יְהוָ֑ה וְהִצַּ֤תִּי אֵשׁ֙ בְּיַעְרָ֔הּ וְאָכְלָ֖ה כָּל־סְבִיבֶֽיהָ׃ ס
