The Four Horsemen of Revelation

When the Lamb opens the first four of the seven seals, the living creatures call forth four horsemen: one on a white horse with a bow and crown who goes out to conquer, one on a fiery red horse who takes peace from the earth, one on a black horse with scales who brings famine, and one on a pale green horse – Death – who, along with Hades, is given power over a fourth of the earth.

Offenbarung 6,1-8

1Then I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals, and I heard one of the four living creatures say with a voice like thunder, "Come!"
2And I looked, and there was a white horse. Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out conquering and to conquer.
3When he opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!"
4And out came another horse, fiery red. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth, so that people would slaughter one another, and he was given a great sword.
5When he opened the third seal, I heard the third living creature say, "Come!" And I looked, and there was a black horse, and its rider held a pair of scales in his hand.
6Then I heard what sounded like a voice among the four living creatures saying, "A quart of wheat for a denarius, and three quarts of barley for a denarius—but do not damage the oil and the wine!"
7When he opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth living creature say, "Come!"
8And I looked, and there was a pale green horse. Its rider was named Death, and Hades followed close behind him. They were given authority over a fourth of the earth, to kill by sword, by famine, by plague, and by the wild beasts of the earth.
