Judgment against the Philistines
The Lord God announces judgment against the Philistines because they took bloody vengeance with contempt in eternal enmity. He stretches out his hand against them, destroys the people from Crete and wipes out the remnant by the seacoast, so that they may know that he is the Lord.
Hesekiel 25,15-17
15This is what the Lord GOD says: Because the Philistines acted in vengeance, taking revenge with malicious hearts, destroying out of ancient hatred,
כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה יַ֛עַן עֲשׂ֥וֹת פְּלִשְׁתִּ֖ים בִּנְקָמָ֑ה וַיִּנָּקְמ֤וּ נָקָם֙ בִּשְׁאָ֣ט בְּנֶ֔פֶשׁ לְמַשְׁחִ֖ית אֵיבַ֥ת עוֹלָֽם׃
16therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: I am stretching out my hand against the Philistines. I will cut off the Cherethites and destroy those who remain along the coast.
לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה הִנְנִ֨י נוֹטֶ֤ה יָדִי֙ עַל־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וְהִכְרַתִּ֖י אֶת־כְּרֵתִ֑ים וְהַ֣אֲבַדְתִּ֔י אֶת־שְׁאֵרִ֖ית ח֥וֹף הַיָּֽם׃
17I will execute great vengeance on them with furious rebukes, and they will know that I am the LORD when I take my vengeance on them.
וְעָשִׂ֤יתִי בָם֙ נְקָמ֣וֹת גְּדֹל֔וֹת בְּתוֹכְח֖וֹת חֵמָ֑ה וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֔ה בְּתִתִּ֥י אֶת־נִקְמָתִ֖י בָּֽם׃ ס
