Curses and Blessings from Gerizim and Ebal
Moses commands that the tribes be divided into two groups when they cross the Jordan: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph and Benjamin are to stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people, while Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan and Naphtali are to stand on Mount Ebal and pronounce the curse. The Levites then proclaim twelve curses in a loud voice against those who break God’s commands—from idolatry and dishonoring parents to injustice toward foreigners, sexual offenses, violence and bribery—and all the people answer "Amen" after each curse.
5. Mose 27,11-26
11That same day Moses charged the people:
וַיְצַ֤ו מֹשֶׁה֙ אֶת־הָעָ֔ם בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא לֵאמֹֽר׃
12"When you have crossed the Jordan, these tribes shall stand on Mount Gerizim to bless the people: Simeon, Levi, Judah, Issachar, Joseph, and Benjamin.
אֵ֠לֶּה יֽ͏ַעַמְד֞וּ לְבָרֵ֤ךְ אֶת־הָעָם֙ עַל־הַ֣ר גְּרִזִ֔ים בְּעָבְרְכֶ֖ם אֶת־הַיַּרְדֵּ֑ן שִׁמְעוֹן֙ וְלֵוִ֣י וִֽיהוּדָ֔ה וְיִשָּׂשכָ֖ר וְיוֹסֵ֥ף וּבִנְיָמִֽן׃
13And these shall stand on Mount Ebal for the curse: Reuben, Gad, Asher, Zebulun, Dan, and Naphtali.
וְאֵ֛לֶּה יֽ͏ַעַמְד֥וּ עַל־הַקְּלָלָ֖ה בְּהַ֣ר עֵיבָ֑ל רְאוּבֵן֙ גָּ֣ד וְאָשֵׁ֔ר וּזְבוּלֻ֖ן דָּ֥ן וְנַפְתָּלִֽי׃
14Then the Levites shall respond, calling out in a loud voice to every man of Israel:"
וְעָנ֣וּ הַלְוִיִּ֗ם וְאָ֥[t]מְר֛וּ אֶל־כָּל־אִ֥ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל ק֥וֹל רָֽם׃ ס
15"Cursed is anyone who makes a carved or cast image—a thing detestable to the LORD, the work of a craftsman's hands—and sets it up in secret." And all the people shall answer, "Amen."
אָר֣וּר הָאִ֡ישׁ אֲשֶׁ֣ר יַעֲשֶׂה֩ פֶ֨סֶל וּמַסֵּכָ֜ה תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת יְהוָ֗ה מַעֲשֵׂ֛ה יְדֵ֥י חָרָ֖שׁ וְשָׂ֣ם בַּסָּ֑תֶר וְעָנ֧וּ כָל־הָעָ֛ם וְאָמְר֖וּ אָמֵֽן׃ ס
16"Cursed is anyone who dishonors his father or his mother." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָר֕וּר מַקְלֶ֥ה אָבִ֖יו וְאִמּ֑וֹ וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ ס
17"Cursed is anyone who moves his neighbor's boundary marker." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָר֕וּר מַסִּ֖יג גְּב֣וּל רֵעֵ֑הוּ וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ ס
18"Cursed is anyone who leads the blind astray on the road." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָר֕וּר מַשְׁגֶּ֥ה עִוֵּ֖ר בַּדָּ֑רֶךְ וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ ס
19"Cursed is anyone who denies justice to the foreigner, the fatherless, or the widow." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָר֗וּר מַטֶּ֛ה מִשְׁפַּ֥ט גֵּר־יָת֖וֹם וְאַלְמָנָ֑ה וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ ס
20"Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his father's wife, for he has dishonored his father's bed." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָר֗וּר שֹׁכֵב֙ עִם־אֵ֣שֶׁת אָבִ֔יו כִּ֥י גִלָּ֖ה כְּנַ֣ף אָבִ֑יו וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ ס
21"Cursed is anyone who has sexual relations with any animal." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָר֕וּר שֹׁכֵ֖ב עִם־כָּל־בְּהֵמָ֑ה וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ ס
22"Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his sister, the daughter of his father or the daughter of his mother." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָר֗וּר שֹׁכֵב֙ עִם־אֲחֹת֔וֹ בַּת־אָבִ֖יו א֣וֹ בַת־אִמּ֑וֹ וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ ס
23"Cursed is anyone who sleeps with his mother-in-law." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָר֕וּר שֹׁכֵ֖ב עִם־חֹֽתַנְתּ֑וֹ וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ ס
24"Cursed is anyone who strikes down his neighbor in secret." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָר֕וּר מַכֵּ֥ה רֵעֵ֖הוּ בַּסָּ֑תֶר וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ ס
25"Cursed is anyone who takes a bribe to kill an innocent person." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָרוּר֙ לֹקֵ֣חַ שֹׁ֔חַד לְהַכּ֥וֹת נֶ֖פֶשׁ דָּ֣ם נָקִ֑י וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ ס
26"Cursed is anyone who does not uphold the words of this law by doing them." And all the people shall say, "Amen."
אָר֗וּר אֲשֶׁ֧ר לֹא־יָקִ֛ים אֶת־דִּבְרֵ֥י הַתּוֹרָֽה־הַזֹּ֖את לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת אוֹתָ֑ם וְאָמַ֥ר כָּל־הָעָ֖ם אָמֵֽן׃ פ
