Die Passion

Jesus before the Sanhedrin

When it became day, the council of elders gathered with the chief priests and scribes and brought Jesus before them. When asked if he is the Messiah, he answers that from now on the Son of Man will sit at the right hand of the Almighty. When they ask if he is the Son of God, he replies: "You say that I am." They then conclude that they need no further witnesses.

Lukas 22,66-71

66At daybreak the council of the elders of the people assembled, both chief priests and scribes, and they brought him before their Sanhedrin.
67"If you are the Messiah," they said, "tell us." He answered, "If I tell you, you will not believe me;
68and if I ask you a question, you will not answer.
69But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God."
70They all said, "Are you then the Son of God?" He answered, "You say that I am."
71Then they said, "Why do we need any further testimony? We have heard it from his own lips."
