Paulus
Paul urges Timothy to suffer for the gospel
Paul urges Timothy not to be ashamed of the testimony about the Lord or of Paul as a prisoner, but to share in suffering for the gospel by the power of God. God has saved us and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given to us in Christ Jesus before the ages began, and now has been manifested through the appearing of our Savior Christ Jesus, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
2. Timotheus 1,8-10

9who saved us and called us with a holy calling—not because of our works, but because of his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before time began
10and has now been revealed through the appearing of our Savior Jesus Christ, who abolished death and brought life and immortality to light through the gospel.
