Akihud

Ahihud belonged to the tribe of Benjamin and was the son of Ehud, a Benjamite clan leader mentioned in 1 Chronicles 8. He is named in verse 7 along with his brothers Naaman, Ahijah, and Gera. According to the biblical text, he and his brothers were taken captive to Manahath, a settlement southwest of Jerusalem, reflecting internal movements among Benjamin's descendants. The Ehud mentioned here should probably not be confused with the well-known judge Ehud son of Gera in the book of Judges. Ahihud's presence in the genealogy testifies to the Chroniclers' care in preserving and documenting even the least known branches of Israel's tribal history.
