Aristobulus
Person mentioned in connection with a Christian household in Rome
Aristobulus is mentioned indirectly in Paul's letter to the Romans, where the apostle sends greetings to those who belong to his household (Romans 16:10). Paul does not greet Aristobulus directly, which may suggest that he himself was not a Christian or that he was already dead when the letter was written. Several scholars have proposed that he can be identified with Aristobulus of Alexandria, a grandson of Herod the Great who lived in Rome. Regardless of his own faith, his household clearly included Christian believers known to the church in Rome.
