Hatah was a courtier appointed by King Ahasuerus to serve Queen Esther. He acted as a messenger between Esther and her cousin Mordecai during a critical period when the fate of the Jewish people hung in the balance. Hatah was one of the courtiers whom the king had assigned to serve Queen Esther in her chambers within the palace.
5Then Esther summoned Hathach, one of the king's eunuchs assigned to attend her, and ordered him to go to Mordecai and find out what this was about and why.

7and Mordecai told him everything that had happened to him, including the exact amount of silver Haman had promised to pay into the royal treasury for the destruction of the Jews.
8He also gave him a copy of the written decree issued in Susa for their annihilation, to show Esther and explain it to her, and to charge her to go to the king to plead with him and beg him for her people.
11"All the king's servants and the people of the king's provinces know that for any man or woman who goes to the king in the inner court without being summoned, there is but one law: death — unless the king extends the golden scepter and spares that person's life. And I have not been summoned to the king for thirty days now."
