This number is interpreted in both Jewish and Christian eschatology as a prophetic time period connected to the end times, the resurrection, and final salvation. It stands closely related to the numbers 1260 and 1290 days in the same chapter (Daniel 12:7, 11), forming the last and longest of three time indications pointing toward a climactic fulfillment. The blessing in the verse suggests that whoever endures through the time of trouble and reaches this day will experience a special blessing – something that has made the number a central theme in biblical expectation of the end times. The three time periods in Daniel 12 – 1260, 1290, and 1335 days – form an ascending sequence. The difference between 1260 and 1290 is 30 days, and between 1290 and 1335 it is 45 days. These intervals have been subject to various interpretations, with some viewing them as successive phases in end-time events. In rabbinic tradition, the 1335 days have been associated with the expectation of the Messiah's coming and the restoration of Israel. Some rabbis have interpreted the extra 45 days beyond 1290 as a period of purification or preparation before the messianic age.
