David defeats the Philistines at the balsam trees
The Philistines attack again and spread out in the valley. David asks God, who tells him to go around the enemy and attack when he hears the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees. David follows the order, defeats the Philistine army from Gibeon all the way to Gezer, and his name becomes known in all lands. 1 Chronicles 14:13-17
1 Crónicas 14,13-17
13Once again the Philistines raided the valley.
וַיֹּסִ֤יפוּ עוֹד֙ פְּלִשְׁתִּ֔ים וַֽיִּפְשְׁט֖וּ בָּעֵֽמֶק׃
14David inquired of God again, and God told him, "Do not go up after them. Circle around them and come at them in front of the balsam trees.
וַיִּשְׁאַ֨ל ע֤וֹד דָּוִיד֙ בֵּֽאלֹהִ֔ים וַיֹּ֤אמֶר לוֹ֙ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים לֹ֥א תֽ͏ַעֲלֶ֖ה אֽ͏ַחֲרֵיהֶ֑ם הָסֵב֙ מֵֽעֲלֵיהֶ֔ם וּבָ֥אתָ לָהֶ֖ם מִמּ֥וּל הַבְּכָאִֽים׃
15As soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the balsam trees, go out to battle, for God has gone out ahead of you to strike down the Philistine army."
וִ֠יהִי כְּֽשָׁמְעֲךָ֞ אֶת־ק֤וֹל הַצְּעָדָה֙ בְּרָאשֵׁ֣י הַבְּכָאִ֔ים אָ֖ז תֵּצֵ֣א בַמִּלְחָמָ֑ה כִּֽי־יָצָ֤א הָֽאֱלֹהִים֙ לְפָנֶ֔יךָ לְהַכּ֖וֹת אֶת־מַחֲנֵ֥ה פְלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
16David did as God commanded him, and they struck down the Philistine army from Gibeon all the way to Gezer.
וַיַּ֣עַשׂ דָּוִ֔יד כּֽ͏ַאֲשֶׁ֥ר צִוָּ֖הוּ הֽ͏ָאֱלֹהִ֑ים וַיַּכּוּ֙ אֶת־מַחֲנֵ֣ה פְלִשְׁתִּ֔ים מִגִּבְע֖וֹן וְעַד־גָּֽזְרָה׃
17So David's fame spread through every land, and the LORD put the dread of David on all the nations.
וַיֵּצֵ֥א שֵׁם־דָּוִ֖יד בְּכָל־הָֽאֲרָצ֑וֹת וַֽיהוָ֛ה נָתַ֥ן אֶת־פַּחְדּ֖וֹ עַל־כָּל־הַגּוֹיִֽם׃
