Salvation for the Prisoners and the Lord's Protection
By the blood of the covenant, the Lord sends the prisoners free from the dry well and promises double restitution. He stretches out Judah like His bow against the sons of Javan, reveals Himself over His people with lightning and trumpet, and saves them as His flock because of His great goodness and beauty.
Zacarías 9,11-17
11As for you, because of the blood of my covenant with you, I will set your prisoners free from the waterless pit.
גַּם־אַ֣תְּ בְּדַם־בְּרִיתֵ֗ךְ שִׁלַּ֤חְתִּי אֲסִירַ֙יִךְ֙ מִבּ֔וֹר אֵ֥ין מַ֖יִם בּֽוֹ׃
12Return to your stronghold, you prisoners of hope. Today I declare it: I will restore to you double.
שׁ֚וּבוּ לְבִצָּר֔וֹן אֲסִירֵ֖י הַתִּקְוָ֑ה גַּם־הַיּ֕וֹם מַגִּ֥יד מִשְׁנֶ֖ה אָשִׁ֥יב לָֽךְ׃
13For I have bent Judah as my bow and fitted Ephraim as my arrow. I will rouse your sons, Zion, against your sons, Greece, and I will wield you like a warrior's sword.
כִּֽי־דָרַ֨כְתִּי לִ֜י יְהוּדָ֗ה קֶ֚שֶׁת מִלֵּ֣אתִי אֶפְרַ֔יִם וְעוֹרַרְתִּ֤י בָנַ֙יִךְ֙ צִיּ֔וֹן עַל־בָּנַ֖יִךְ יָוָ֑ן וְשַׂמְתִּ֖יךְ כְּחֶ֥רֶב גִּבּֽוֹר׃
14Then the LORD will appear over them, and his arrow will flash out like lightning. The Lord GOD will sound the trumpet and advance in the storms of the south.
וַֽיהוָה֙ עֲלֵיהֶ֣ם יֵֽרָאֶ֔ה וְיָצָ֥א כַבָּרָ֖ק חִצּ֑וֹ וַֽאדֹנָ֤י יְהֹוִה֙ בַּשּׁוֹפָ֣ר יִתְקָ֔ע וְהָלַ֖ךְ בְּסַעֲר֥וֹת תֵּימָֽן׃
15The LORD of hosts will shield them. They will devour and trample the sling stones underfoot; they will drink and roar as with wine, filled like a bowl, drenched like the corners of the altar.
יְהוָ֣ה צְבָאוֹת֮ יָגֵ֣ן עֲלֵיהֶם֒ וְאָכְל֗וּ וְכָֽבְשׁוּ֙ אַבְנֵי־קֶ֔לַע וְשָׁת֥וּ הָמ֖וּ כְּמוֹ־יָ֑יִן וּמָֽלְאוּ֙ כַּמִּזְרָ֔ק כְּזָוִיּ֖וֹת מִזְבֵּֽחַ׃
16On that day the LORD their God will save them, the flock that is his people; like jewels in a crown they will sparkle over his land.
וְֽהוֹשִׁיעָ֞ם יְהוָ֧ה אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֛ם בַּיּ֥וֹם הַה֖וּא כְּצֹ֣אן עַמּ֑וֹ כִּ֚י אַבְנֵי־נֵ֔זֶר מִֽתְנוֹסְס֖וֹת עַל־אַדְמָתֽוֹ׃
17How great his goodness, how great his beauty! Grain will make the young men flourish, and new wine the young women.
כִּ֥י מַה־טּוּב֖וֹ וּמַה־יָפְי֑וֹ דָּגָן֙ בַּֽחוּרִ֔ים וְתִיר֖וֹשׁ יְנוֹבֵ֥ב בְּתֻלֽוֹת׃
