Los milagros de Jesús
Healing of a Man with Dropsy on the Sabbath
Jesus heals a man with dropsy on the Sabbath at the home of a leader of the Pharisees. He asks the experts in the law and the Pharisees whether it is lawful to heal on the Sabbath, but they remain silent. After the healing, Jesus justifies his action by saying that even they would pull out a son or an ox that had fallen into a well on the Sabbath.
Lucas 14,1-6
1One Sabbath, when Jesus went to eat at the house of a leading Pharisee, they were watching him closely.
2And there in front of him was a man whose body was badly swollen.
3Jesus spoke up and asked the experts in the law and the Pharisees, "Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?"
καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς εἶπεν πρὸς τοὺς νομικοὺς καὶ Φαρισαίους λέγων· ⸀Ἔξεστιν τῷ σαββάτῳ ⸂θεραπεῦσαι ἢ οὔ⸃;
4But they said nothing. So he took hold of the man, healed him, and sent him on his way.
5Then he said to them, "If one of you has a son or an ox that falls into a well, will you not pull him out at once, even on the Sabbath day?"
⸀καὶ πρὸς αὐτοὺς εἶπεν· Τίνος ὑμῶν υἱὸς ἢ βοῦς εἰς φρέαρ ⸀πεσεῖται, καὶ οὐκ εὐθέως ἀνασπάσει αὐτὸν ⸀ἐν ἡμέρᾳ τοῦ σαββάτου;
6And they could give no answer to this.
