The Prophecy of Peter's Denial

Jesus warns the disciples that they will all fall away this night, quoting the prophecy that the shepherd will be struck and the sheep scattered. Peter insists he will never fall away, but Jesus says that before the rooster crows, Peter will deny him three times. Peter and the other disciples insist they would rather die with him.

Mateo 26,31-35

31Then Jesus said to them, "This very night you will all fall away on account of me, for it is written: 'I will strike the shepherd, and the sheep of the flock will be scattered.'
32But after I am raised, I will go ahead of you to Galilee."
33Peter answered him, "Even if everyone else falls away on account of you, I never will."
34Jesus said to him, "Truly I tell you, this very night, before the rooster crows, you will deny me three times."
35Peter said to him, "Even if I must die with you, I will never deny you." And all the disciples said the same.
