Bina (also spelled Binjah) is mentioned in Genesis 46:17 as one of Asher's descendants who went down to Egypt with Jacob and his family. She is traditionally regarded as Asher's daughter, though some traditions identify her as a female relative associated with the tribe of Asher. She is part of the list of Jacob's household that settled in Egypt.
In the listing of all of Jacob's descendants who came to Egypt, Bina is mentioned as part of Asher's family, among the seventy persons belonging to Jacob's house.
Asher's tribe, to which Bina belonged, was counted among the tribes of Israel in the wilderness. The tribe's descendants made up a significant portion of the people.
