Inicio Personas Kesed Kesed was one of the eight sons of Nahor, Abraham's brother, by his wife Milcah. He is mentioned in the genealogy in Genesis 22 . Kesed is traditionally regarded as the ancestor of the Chaldeans (kasdim in Hebrew), the people who later founded the Neo-Babylonian Empire.

22 Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel." heb וְאֶת־כֶּ֣שֶׂד וְאֶת־חֲז֔וֹ וְאֶת־פִּלְדָּ֖שׁ וְאֶת־יִדְלָ֑ף וְאֵ֖ת בְּתוּאֵֽל׃
Kesed was the nephew of Abraham, the patriarch. Through this family line, Abraham's family is connected to the peoples of Mesopotamia.

23 Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. These eight Milcah bore to Nahor, Abraham's brother. heb וּבְתוּאֵ֖ל יָלַ֣ד אֶת־רִבְקָ֑ה שְׁמֹנָ֥ה אֵ֙לֶּה֙ יָלְדָ֣ה מִלְכָּ֔ה לְנָח֖וֹר אֲחִ֥י אַבְרָהָֽם׃
The name Kesed (Hebrew: כֶּשֶׂד) is traditionally linked to the Chaldeans (kasdim), the people from Ur in Chaldea, which was Abraham's original homeland.
28 Haran died in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldeans, while his father Terah was still alive. heb וַיָּ֣מָת הָרָ֔ן עַל־פְּנֵ֖י תֶּ֣רַח אָבִ֑יו בְּאֶ֥רֶץ מוֹלַדְתּ֖וֹ בְּא֥וּר כַּשְׂדִּֽים׃
31 Terah took his son Abram, his grandson Lot son of Haran, and his daughter-in-law Sarai, the wife of his son Abram, and together they set out from Ur of the Chaldeans to go to the land of Canaan. But when they came to Haran, they settled there. heb וַיִּקַּ֨ח תֶּ֜רַח אֶת־אַבְרָ֣ם בְּנ֗וֹ וְאֶת־ל֤וֹט בֶּן־הָרָן֙ בֶּן־בְּנ֔וֹ וְאֵת֙ שָׂרַ֣י כַּלָּת֔וֹ אֵ֖שֶׁת אַבְרָ֣ם בְּנ֑וֹ וַיֵּצְא֨וּ אִתָּ֜ם מֵא֣וּר כַּשְׂדִּ֗ים לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ אַ֣רְצָה כְּנַ֔עַן וַיָּבֹ֥אוּ עַד־חָרָ֖ן וַיֵּ֥שְׁבוּ שָֽׁם׃
Nahor's sons, including Kesed, represent various ethnic groups in the ancient Middle East, and this family line shows the spread of Abraham's extended family.

24 His concubine, whose name was Reumah, also bore sons: Tebah, Gaham, Tahash, and Maacah. heb וּפִֽילַגְשׁ֖וֹ וּשְׁמָ֣הּ רְאוּמָ֑ה וַתֵּ֤לֶד גַּם־הִוא֙ אֶת־טֶ֣בַח וְאֶת־גַּ֔חַם וְאֶת־תַּ֖חַשׁ וְאֶֽת־מַעֲכָֽה׃ ס
