Mentioned as Solomon's daughter

Taphath is mentioned as a daughter of King Solomon in connection with the listing of his twelve district governors. She was married to Ben-Abinadab, who ruled over the entire region of Dor.

Solomon's administrative system

Taphath's marriage was part of Solomon's strategy to organize and consolidate his kingdom through twelve administrative districts, where each governor had to provide for the king's household one month each year.

7Solomon had twelve district governors over all Israel, who supplied provisions for the king and his household. Each one was responsible for one month of the year.

Solomon's wealth and power

The context surrounding Taphath's marriage illustrates Solomon's immense wealth and political power, as his daughters were used in strategic alliances with his own officials.

20The people of Judah and Israel were as numerous as the sand on the seashore; they ate and drank and rejoiced.

Solomon's Royal Family

Solomon had many wives and children, and Tahath was among the royal daughters who were married off to ensure political stability in the kingdom.

1King Solomon loved many foreign women. Besides Pharaoh's daughter, there were Moabites, Ammonites, Edomites, Sidonians, and Hittites—
