The Doubter Who Confessed

Thomas, also called Didymus (the Twin), was one of Jesus' twelve apostles. He is known as 'the doubter' because he refused to believe in the resurrection until he had seen and touched Jesus' wounds. When Jesus appeared to him, he confessed: 'My Lord and my God!'

The Question about the Way

At the Last Supper, Thomas asked: 'Lord, we do not know where you are going. How then can we know the way?'

Doubt

Thomas was not present when Jesus first appeared and said he would not believe until he could see and touch the wounds.

My Lord and My God

Eight days later, Jesus appeared and invited Thomas to put his fingers into the wounds. Thomas confessed: 'My Lord and my God!'

26Eight days later his disciples were together again indoors, and Thomas was with them. Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you."
