Profeetat
Judgment on the Mountains of Israel
The Lord sends Ezekiel with a prophecy against the mountains of Israel and their high places. He promises to destroy the idols, break down the sun pillars, and leave the corpses of the people of Israel before their idols as a sign of His judgment. Sword, famine, and plague will strike the people because of their religious corruption, but some will be spared and scattered among the nations so that they remember the Lord and know that He is God.
Hesekiel 6,1-14
1The word of the LORD came to me:
2Son of man, set your face toward the mountains of Israel and prophesy against them.
3Say: Mountains of Israel, hear the word of the Lord GOD! This is what the Lord GOD says to the mountains and the hills, to the ravines and the valleys: I myself am bringing a sword against you, and I will destroy your high places.
4Your altars will be laid waste and your incense stands smashed, and I will throw down your slain before your idols.
5I will lay the corpses of the Israelites before their idols, and I will scatter your bones around your altars.
6Wherever you live, the cities will lie in ruins and the high places will be desolate, so that your altars are ruined and left guilty, your idols smashed and finished, your incense stands cut down, and everything you have made wiped away.
7The slain will fall in your midst, and you will know that I am the LORD.
8Yet I will leave a remnant: some of you will escape the sword among the nations, when you are scattered through the lands.
9Then your survivors will remember me among the nations where they have been carried captive—how I broke their adulterous heart that turned away from me and their eyes that lusted after their idols. They will loathe themselves to their own faces for the evils they have done, for all their detestable practices.
10And they will know that I am the LORD; I did not threaten in vain to bring this disaster upon them.
11This is what the Lord GOD says: Clap your hands, stamp your foot, and cry out, "Alas!" over all the wicked abominations of the house of Israel, for they will fall by sword, famine, and plague.
12The one far away will die of plague, the one near will fall by the sword, and whoever is left and survives will die of famine. So I will spend my fury on them.
13Then you will know that I am the LORD, when their slain lie among their idols around their altars—on every high hill, on all the mountaintops, under every green tree and every leafy oak, wherever they offered fragrant incense to all their idols.
14I will stretch out my hand against them and make the land a desolate waste, from the wilderness to Diblah, wherever they live. Then they will know that I am the LORD.[fn]
