Elijah and the Prayer for Rain
James brings up the prophet Elijah as an example of the power of prayer. Although Elijah was a human being like us, he prayed earnestly that it would not rain, and it did not rain on the land for three years and six months. When he prayed again, heaven gave rain, and the earth produced its harvest.
Jaakobin kirje 5,17-18
17Elijah was a man just like us, and he prayed earnestly that it would not rain—and no rain fell on the land for three and a half years.
18Then he prayed again, and the heavens gave rain, and the earth produced its harvest.
