Pharaoh's baker was a high-ranking court official in Egypt who was imprisoned together with Pharaoh's cupbearer. In prison, he had a dream that Joseph interpreted, which predicted his execution three days later.

The baker was imprisoned together with the cupbearer because they had offended against Pharaoh, the king of Egypt.
1Some time later, the cupbearer and the baker of the king of Egypt offended their master, the king of Egypt.
וַיְהִ֗י אַחַר֙ הַדְּבָרִ֣ים הָאֵ֔לֶּה חָ֥[t]טְא֛וּ מַשְׁקֵ֥ה מֶֽלֶךְ־מִצְרַ֖יִם וְהָאֹפֶ֑ה לַאֲדֹנֵיהֶ֖ם לְמֶ֥לֶךְ מִצְרָֽיִם׃
2Pharaoh was furious with his two officials, the chief cupbearer and the chief baker,
וַיִּקְצֹ֣ף פַּרְעֹ֔ה עַ֖ל שְׁנֵ֣י סָרִיסָ֑יו עַ֚ל שַׂ֣ר הַמַּשְׁקִ֔ים וְעַ֖ל שַׂ֥ר הָאוֹפִֽים׃
3and he put them in custody in the house of the captain of the guard, in the prison where Joseph was confined.
וַיִּתֵּ֨ן אֹתָ֜ם בְּמִשְׁמַ֗ר בֵּ֛ית שַׂ֥ר הַטַבָּחִ֖ים אֶל־בֵּ֣ית הַסֹּ֑הַר מְק֕וֹם אֲשֶׁ֥ר יוֹסֵ֖ף אָס֥וּר שָֽׁם׃
The Dream of the Three Baskets
The baker dreamed of three baskets of baked goods on his head, from which birds were eating, intended for Pharaoh.
16When the chief baker saw that the interpretation was favorable, he said to Joseph, "I too had a dream: there were three baskets of bread on my head.
וַיַּ֥רְא שַׂר־הָאֹפִ֖ים כִּ֣י ט֣וֹב פָּתָ֑ר וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ אֶל־יוֹסֵ֔ף אַף־אֲנִי֙ בַּחֲלוֹמִ֔י וְהִנֵּ֗ה שְׁלֹשָׁ֛ה סַלֵּ֥י חֹרִ֖י עַל־רֹאשִֽׁי׃
17In the top basket were all sorts of baked goods for Pharaoh, and the birds were eating them out of the basket on my head."
וּבַסַּ֣ל הָֽעֶלְי֔וֹן מִכֹּ֛ל מַאֲכַ֥ל פַּרְעֹ֖ה מַעֲשֵׂ֣ה אֹפֶ֑ה וְהָע֗וֹף אֹכֵ֥ל אֹתָ֛ם מִן־הַסַּ֖ל מֵעַ֥ל רֹאשִֽׁי׃
Joseph Interprets the Dream
Joseph explained that the three baskets meant three days, and that Pharaoh would hang the baker and the birds would eat his flesh.
18Joseph answered, "This is what it means: the three baskets are three days.
וַיַּ֤עַן יוֹסֵף֙ וַיֹּ֔אמֶר זֶ֖ה פִּתְרֹנ֑וֹ שְׁלֹ֙שֶׁת֙ הַסַּלִּ֔ים שְׁלֹ֥שֶׁת יָמִ֖ים הֵֽם׃
19Within three days Pharaoh will lift up your head—from off your body—and hang you on a tree, and the birds will eat the flesh from your body.
בְּע֣וֹד ׀ שְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת יָמִ֗ים יִשָּׂ֨א פַרְעֹ֤ה אֶת־רֹֽאשְׁךָ֙ מֵֽעָלֶ֔יךָ וְתָלָ֥ה אוֹתְךָ֖ עַל־עֵ֑ץ וְאָכַ֥ל הָע֛וֹף אֶת־בְּשָׂרְךָ֖ מֵעָלֶֽיךָ׃
The Execution
On the third day, which was Pharaoh's birthday, the baker was hanged, just as Joseph had predicted.
20Three days later it was Pharaoh's birthday, and he gave a banquet for all his servants. In the presence of his servants he lifted up the head of the chief cupbearer and the head of the chief baker:
וַיְהִ֣י ׀ בַּיּ֣וֹם הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֗י י֚וֹם הֻלֶּ֣דֶת אֶת־פַּרְעֹ֔ה וַיַּ֥עַשׂ מִשְׁתֶּ֖ה לְכָל־עֲבָדָ֑יו וַיִּשָּׂ֞א אֶת־רֹ֣אשׁ ׀ שַׂ֣ר הַמַּשְׁקִ֗ים וְאֶת־רֹ֛אשׁ שַׂ֥ר הָאֹפִ֖ים בְּת֥וֹךְ עֲבָדָֽיו׃
22but he hanged the chief baker—just as Joseph had told them.
וְאֵ֛ת שַׂ֥ר הָאֹפִ֖ים תָּלָ֑ה כַּאֲשֶׁ֥ר פָּתַ֛ר לָהֶ֖ם יוֹסֵֽף׃
