Etusivu Henkilöt Keturah Keturah was a concubine (secondary wife) of Abraham. She became the mother of several sons, including Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. Through her, Abraham became the ancestor of several peoples and tribes in the ancient Middle East.

Avaintapahtumat After Sarah's death, Abraham took a new wife named Keturah (Rishah), who bore him six sons.
1 Abraham took another wife, whose name was Keturah. hepr וַיֹּ֧סֶף אַבְרָהָ֛ם וַיִּקַּ֥ח אִשָּׁ֖ה וּשְׁמָ֥הּ קְטוּרָֽה׃
2 She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. hepr וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֗וֹ אֶת־זִמְרָן֙ וְאֶת־יָקְשָׁ֔ן וְאֶת־מְדָ֖ן וְאֶת־מִדְיָ֑ן וְאֶת־יִשְׁבָּ֖ק וְאֶת־שֽׁוּחַ׃
Rishah's sons with Abraham were Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak and Shuah. These became the ancestors of several peoples.
2 She bore him Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. hepr וַתֵּ֣לֶד ל֗וֹ אֶת־זִמְרָן֙ וְאֶת־יָקְשָׁ֔ן וְאֶת־מְדָ֖ן וְאֶת־מִדְיָ֑ן וְאֶת־יִשְׁבָּ֖ק וְאֶת־שֽׁוּחַ׃
3 Jokshan fathered Sheba and Dedan, and the sons of Dedan were the Asshurim, the Letushim, and the Leummim. hepr וְיָקְשָׁ֣ן יָלַ֔ד אֶת־שְׁבָ֖א וְאֶת־דְּדָ֑ן וּבְנֵ֣י דְדָ֔ן הָי֛וּ אַשּׁוּרִ֥ם וּלְטוּשִׁ֖ים וּלְאֻמִּֽים׃
4 The sons of Midian were Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All these were the children of Keturah. hepr וּבְנֵ֣י מִדְיָ֗ן עֵיפָ֤ה וָעֵ֙פֶר֙ וַחֲנֹ֔ךְ וַאֲבִידָ֖ע וְאֶלְדָּעָ֑ה כָּל־אֵ֖לֶּה בְּנֵ֥י קְטוּרָֽה׃
Abraham gave everything he owned to Isaac, but to the sons of his concubines he gave gifts and sent them eastward, away from his son Isaac.
5 Abraham gave everything he owned to Isaac. hepr וַיִּתֵּ֧ן אַבְרָהָ֛ם אֶת־כָּל־אֲשֶׁר־ל֖וֹ לְיִצְחָֽק׃
6 But to the sons of his concubines Abraham gave gifts, and while he was still alive he sent them away from his son Isaac, eastward to the land of the east. hepr וְלִבְנֵ֤י הַפִּֽילַגְשִׁים֙ אֲשֶׁ֣ר לְאַבְרָהָ֔ם נָתַ֥ן אַבְרָהָ֖ם מַתָּנֹ֑ת וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֵ֞ם מֵעַ֨ל יִצְחָ֤ק בּנוֹ֙ בְּעוֹדֶ֣נּוּ חַ֔י קֵ֖דְמָה אֶל־אֶ֥רֶץ קֶֽדֶם׃
