Etusivu Henkilöt Zaavan Zaavan (also spelled Zavan) was a son of Eser, who was a son of Seir the Horite. He is mentioned in the genealogies in Genesis and 1 Chronicles as one of the Horite clan leaders who lived in the land of Seir (Edom) before the Edomites took over the area. His historical significance lies in showing the original peoples of the Edom region.

23 These were the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. hepr וְאֵ֙לֶּה֙ בְּנֵ֣י שׁוֹבָ֔ל עַלְוָ֥ן וּמָנַ֖חַת וְעֵיבָ֑ל שְׁפ֖וֹ וְאוֹנָֽם׃
24 These were the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness while pasturing the donkeys of his father Zibeon.[^1]
