The parallel passage in Ezra 2:69 also mentions gifts for temple work but lists 100 priestly garments instead of 530. The difference in numbers between the Ezra and Nehemiah lists is a well-known textual-critical issue that has been discussed by biblical scholars for centuries. The priestly vestments (Heb. כׇּתְנֹת כֹּהֲנִים, kotnot kohanim) were sacred garments that priests had to wear during service in the temple, according to the instructions in Exodus 28–29.
