The Prophet Agabus Predicts a Famine
In those days prophets came from Jerusalem to Antioch. One of them, Agabus, stood up and predicted by the Spirit that a severe famine would spread over the entire world. This happened during the reign of Claudius. The disciples in Antioch decided that each one should send relief to the brothers living in Judea according to their ability. They did so, sending their gift to the elders through Barnabas and Saul.
Actes 11,27-30
27In those days prophets came down from Jerusalem to Antioch.
28One of them, named Agabus, stood up and indicated through the Spirit that a severe famine was about to come over the whole world; this happened in the days of Claudius.
29So the disciples determined, each according to his ability, to send relief to the brothers living in Judea.
30And they did so, sending it to the elders by the hand of Barnabas and Saul.
