The Roar of Nations and Sudden Terror
A prophetic image of the clamor of nations roaring like the sea and mighty waters. But when the Lord threatens them, they flee like chaff before the wind and dust whirls before a storm. Terror comes in the evening, and by morning they are gone—this is the fate of those who plunder and rob God's people. Isaiah 17:12-14
Ésaïe 17,12-14
12Ah, the din of many peoples — they rage like the raging of the seas! The uproar of nations — they roar like the roar of mighty waters!
13The nations roar like the roar of great waters, but he rebukes them, and they flee far away, driven like chaff on the mountains before the wind, like whirling dust before a gale.
14At evening, sudden terror! Before morning, they are gone. This is the portion of those who plunder us, the lot of those who rob us.
