The Healing of the Royal Official's Son
A royal official from Capernaum went to Jesus in Cana and asked him to come and heal his dying son. Jesus told him that his son would live, and the man believed what Jesus said and left. On his way home, his servants met him and told him that his boy had recovered at the exact hour Jesus spoke. The father and all his household came to believe. This was the second sign Jesus performed in Galilee.

46So he came again to Cana in Galilee, where he had turned the water into wine. Now there was a royal official whose son lay ill in Capernaum.
Ἦλθεν οὖν ⸀πάλιν εἰς τὴν Κανὰ τῆς Γαλιλαίας, ὅπου ἐποίησεν τὸ ὕδωρ οἶνον. καὶ ἦν τις βασιλικὸς οὗ ὁ υἱὸς ἠσθένει ἐν Καφαρναούμ.
47When he heard that Jesus had come from Judea to Galilee, he went to him and begged him to come down and heal his son, who was at the point of death.
οὗτος ἀκούσας ὅτι Ἰησοῦς ἥκει ἐκ τῆς Ἰουδαίας εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν ἀπῆλθεν πρὸς αὐτὸν καὶ ⸀ἠρώτα ἵνα καταβῇ καὶ ἰάσηται αὐτοῦ τὸν υἱόν, ἤμελλεν γὰρ ἀποθνῄσκειν.
48Jesus said to him, "Unless you people see signs and wonders, you will never believe."
εἶπεν οὖν ὁ Ἰησοῦς πρὸς αὐτόν· Ἐὰν μὴ σημεῖα καὶ τέρατα ἴδητε, οὐ μὴ πιστεύσητε.
49The official said to him, "Sir, come down before my child dies."
λέγει πρὸς αὐτὸν ὁ βασιλικός· Κύριε, κατάβηθι πρὶν ἀποθανεῖν τὸ παιδίον μου.
50Jesus said to him, "Go; your son lives." The man believed the word Jesus spoke to him and started on his way.
λέγει αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς· Πορεύου· ὁ υἱός σου ζῇ. ⸀ἐπίστευσεν ὁ ἄνθρωπος τῷ λόγῳ ⸀ὃν εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ Ἰησοῦς καὶ ἐπορεύετο.
51While he was still on the way down, his servants met him with the news that his boy was alive.
ἤδη δὲ αὐτοῦ καταβαίνοντος οἱ δοῦλοι αὐτοῦ ⸀ὑπήντησαν ⸀αὐτῷ λέγοντες ὅτι ὁ παῖς ⸀αὐτοῦ ζῇ.
52So he asked them the hour when the boy had begun to improve, and they told him, "Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him."
ἐπύθετο οὖν ⸂τὴν ὥραν παρʼ αὐτῶν⸃ ἐν ᾗ κομψότερον ἔσχεν· ⸂εἶπαν οὖν⸃ αὐτῷ ὅτι ⸀Ἐχθὲς ὥραν ἑβδόμην ἀφῆκεν αὐτὸν ὁ πυρετός.
53Then the father realized that this was the very hour when Jesus had said to him, "Your son lives." And he himself believed, along with his whole household.
ἔγνω οὖν ὁ πατὴρ ⸀ὅτι ἐκείνῃ τῇ ὥρᾳ ἐν ᾗ εἶπεν αὐτῷ ὁ ⸀Ἰησοῦς· Ὁ υἱός σου ζῇ, καὶ ἐπίστευσεν αὐτὸς καὶ ἡ οἰκία αὐτοῦ ὅλη.
54This was the second sign Jesus performed, once again, after coming from Judea to Galilee.
τοῦτο ⸀δὲ πάλιν δεύτερον σημεῖον ἐποίησεν ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐλθὼν ἐκ τῆς Ἰουδαίας εἰς τὴν Γαλιλαίαν.
