Les miracles de Jésus

Jesus Walks on Water

Jesus walks on water toward the disciples' boat during a storm. Peter tries too, but begins to sink when he doubts, and Jesus saves him.

Matthieu 14,22-33

22Immediately he made the disciples get into the boat and go on ahead of him to the other side, while he dismissed the crowds.
23After sending them away, he went up on the mountain by himself to pray. When evening came, he was there alone,
24while the boat was already a long way from land, battered by the waves, for the wind was against them.
25In the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea.
26When the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified. "It's a ghost!" they said, and they cried out in fear.
27But at once Jesus spoke to them: "Take heart, it is I. Do not be afraid."
28Peter answered him, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water."
29"Come," he said. So Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came to Jesus.
30But when he saw how strong the wind was, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, "Lord, save me!"
31At once Jesus reached out his hand and caught hold of him. "You of little faith," he said, "why did you doubt?"
εὐθέως δὲ ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἐκτείνας τὴν χεῖρα ἐπελάβετο αὐτοῦ καὶ λέγει αὐτῷ· Ὀλιγόπιστε, εἰς τί ἐδίστασας;
32And when they had climbed into the boat, the wind died down.
33Then those in the boat worshiped him, saying, "Truly you are the Son of God."

Marc 6,45-52

45Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and cross over ahead of him toward Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd.
46After saying goodbye to them, he went up on the mountain to pray.
47When evening came, the boat was out in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on land.
48He saw them straining at the oars, for the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea, and he meant to pass by them.
49But when they saw him walking on the sea, they thought he was a ghost and cried out,
50for they all saw him and were terrified. But he spoke to them at once: "Take courage! It is I. Do not be afraid."
51Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind died down. And they were completely astounded within themselves,
52for they had not understood about the loaves; their hearts were hardened.

Jean 6,16-21

16When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea,
17got into a boat, and set off across the sea toward Capernaum. It was already dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them.
18A strong wind was blowing, and the sea grew rough.
19When they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and coming near the boat, and they were afraid.
20But he said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid."
21Then they were willing to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat reached the shore where they were heading.
