Les paraboles de Jésus

The Parable of the Sheep and the Goats

When the Son of Man comes in his glory with all the angels, he will sit on his glorious throne. All nations are gathered before him, and he separates them from one another as a shepherd separates sheep from goats. He places the sheep on his right hand and the goats on the left. Then the king says to those on his right: "Come here, you who are blessed by my Father, and inherit the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me food; I was thirsty and you gave me drink; I was a stranger and you welcomed me; naked, sick, and in prison, and you cared for me." The righteous ask when they did this, and he answers: "Whatever you did for one of the least of these my brothers, you did it for me." To those on his left he says the opposite and sends them away to eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. These will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

Matthieu 25,31-46

31"When the Son of Man comes in his glory, and all the angels with him, then he will sit on his glorious throne.
32All the nations will be gathered before him, and he will separate the people one from another as a shepherd separates the sheep from the goats.
33He will place the sheep on his right and the goats on his left.
34Then the King will say to those on his right, 'Come, you who are blessed by my Father; inherit the kingdom prepared for you since the foundation of the world.
35For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me,
36I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to me.'
37Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink?
τότε ἀποκριθήσονται αὐτῷ οἱ δίκαιοι λέγοντες· Κύριε, πότε σε εἴδομεν πεινῶντα καὶ ἐθρέψαμεν, ἢ διψῶντα καὶ ἐποτίσαμεν;
38When did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you?
πότε δέ σε εἴδομεν ξένον καὶ συνηγάγομεν, ἢ γυμνὸν καὶ περιεβάλομεν;
39When did we see you sick or in prison and come to you?'
πότε δέ σε εἴδομεν ⸀ἀσθενοῦντα ἢ ἐν φυλακῇ καὶ ἤλθομεν πρός σε;
40And the King will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'
41Then he will say to those on his left, 'Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels.
42For I was hungry and you gave me nothing to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me nothing to drink,
43I was a stranger and you did not welcome me, naked and you did not clothe me, sick and in prison and you did not look after me.'
44Then they too will answer, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and did not help you?'
τότε ἀποκριθήσονται καὶ αὐτοὶ λέγοντες· Κύριε, πότε σε εἴδομεν πεινῶντα ἢ διψῶντα ἢ ξένον ἢ γυμνὸν ἢ ἀσθενῆ ἢ ἐν φυλακῇ καὶ οὐ διηκονήσαμέν σοι;
45Then he will answer them, 'Truly I tell you, whatever you did not do for one of the least of these, you did not do for me.'
46And they will go away to eternal punishment, but the righteous to eternal life."
