How can the Messiah be David's son?
While Jesus was teaching in the temple, he asked the scribes a question: How can the Messiah be David's son when David himself, by the Holy Spirit, calls him Lord in Psalm 110? The crowd listened to him with delight.
Marc 12,35-37
35As Jesus was teaching in the temple, he responded, "How can the scribes say that the Messiah is the son of David?
Καὶ ἀποκριθεὶς ὁ Ἰησοῦς ἔλεγεν διδάσκων ἐν τῷ ἱερῷ· Πῶς λέγουσιν οἱ γραμματεῖς ὅτι ὁ χριστὸς υἱὸς ⸂Δαυίδ ἐστιν⸃;
36David himself, speaking by the Holy Spirit, declared: 'The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand until I put your enemies under your feet.'
37David himself calls him Lord. How then can he be his son?" And the large crowd listened to him with delight.
