Moses is allowed to see the Promised Land from Nebo
The Lord commands Moses to go up the Abarim mountains, to Mount Nebo in the land of Moab opposite Jericho, to look out over the land of Canaan that the Israelites will receive as their possession. There Moses is to die and be gathered to his people, just as his brother Aaron died on Mount Hor. The reason is that Moses and Aaron were unfaithful to the Lord at the waters of Meribah in Kadesh in the wilderness of Sin and did not uphold His holiness among the Israelites. Moses sees the land before him but will not enter it.
Deutéronome 32,48-52
48That very same day the LORD said to Moses,
וַיְדַבֵּ֤ר יְהוָה֙ אֶל־מֹשֶׁ֔ה בְּעֶ֛צֶם הַיּ֥וֹם הַזֶּ֖ה לֵאמֹֽר׃
49"Go up this mountain of the Abarim range, Mount Nebo in the land of Moab, opposite Jericho, and view the land of Canaan, which I am giving to the Israelites as their possession.
עֲלֵ֡ה אֶל־הַר֩ הָעֲבָרִ֨ים הַזֶּ֜ה הַר־נְב֗וֹ אֲשֶׁר֙ בְּאֶ֣רֶץ מוֹאָ֔ב אֲשֶׁ֖ר עַל־פְּנֵ֣י יְרֵח֑וֹ וּרְאֵה֙ אֶת־אֶ֣רֶץ כְּנַ֔עַן אֲשֶׁ֨ר אֲנִ֥י נֹתֵ֛ן לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לַאֲחֻזָּֽה׃
50There on the mountain you are about to climb, you will die and be gathered to your people, just as your brother Aaron died on Mount Hor and was gathered to his people.
וּמֻ֗ת בָּהָר֙ אֲשֶׁ֤ר אַתָּה֙ עֹלֶ֣ה שָׁ֔מָּה וְהֵאָסֵ֖ף אֶל־עַמֶּ֑יךָ כּֽ͏ַאֲשֶׁר־מֵ֞ת אַהֲרֹ֤ן אָחִ֙יךָ֙ בְּהֹ֣ר הָהָ֔ר וַיֵּאָ֖סֶף אֶל־עַמָּֽיו׃
51This is because both of you broke faith with me among the Israelites at the waters of Meribah at Kadesh in the Wilderness of Zin, and because you did not uphold my holiness among the Israelites.
עַל֩ אֲשֶׁ֨ר מְעַלְתֶּ֜ם בִּ֗י בְּתוֹךְ֙ בְּנֵ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל בְּמֵֽי־מְרִיבַ֥ת קָדֵ֖שׁ מִדְבַּר־צִ֑ן עַ֣ל אֲשֶׁ֤ר לֹֽא־קִדַּשְׁתֶּם֙ אוֹתִ֔י בְּת֖וֹךְ בְּנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
52You will see the land from a distance, but you will not enter it—the land I am giving to the Israelites.
כִּ֥י מִנֶּ֖גֶד תִּרְאֶ֣ה אֶת־הָאָ֑רֶץ וְשָׁ֙מָּה֙ לֹ֣א תָב֔וֹא אֶל־הָאָ֕רֶץ אֲשֶׁר־אֲנִ֥י נֹתֵ֖ן לִבְנֵ֥י יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ פ
