Paul's Last Words and Farewell

In his last letter, Paul urges Timothy to hurry and come before winter, bringing Mark, the cloak left with Carpus in Troas, and the books. He tells how Demas has deserted him out of love for this present world, while other fellow workers have been sent out or remain elsewhere. Only Luke is with him. Paul warns against Alexander the coppersmith, and recalls how no one stood up for him during his first defense, but the Lord himself strengthened him so that the message could be proclaimed to all nations, and he was rescued from the lion's mouth. He expresses confidence that the Lord will save him into his heavenly kingdom, and closes with greetings and a blessing.
