Solomon establishes a regular system of offerings and service
Solomon establishes a fixed system for burnt offerings on the altar, observes the Sabbath and feasts, and organizes the priests, Levites, and gatekeepers according to the regulations from his father David.
2 Chroniques 8,12-16
12Then Solomon offered burnt offerings to the LORD on the altar of the LORD that he had built in front of the portico,
אָ֣ז הֶעֱלָ֧ה שְׁלֹמֹ֛ה עֹל֖וֹת לַיהוָ֑ה עַ֚ל מִזְבַּ֣ח יְהוָ֔ה אֲשֶׁ֥ר בָּנָ֖ה לִפְנֵ֥י הָאוּלָֽם׃
13presenting each day's offering as Moses had commanded, for the Sabbaths, the New Moons, and the three annual festivals—the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks, and the Festival of Booths.
וּבִדְבַר־י֣וֹם בְּי֗וֹם לְהַעֲלוֹת֙ כְּמִצְוַ֣ת מֹשֶׁ֔ה לַשַּׁבָּתוֹת֙ וְלֶ֣חֳדָשִׁ֔ים וְלַמּ֣וֹעֲד֔וֹת שָׁל֥וֹשׁ פְּעָמִ֖ים בַּשָּׁנָ֑ה בְּחַ֧ג הַמַּצּ֛וֹת וּבְחַ֥ג הַשָּׁבֻע֖וֹת וּבְחַ֥ג הַסֻּכּֽוֹת׃
14Following the instructions of his father David, he appointed the divisions of the priests for their service and the Levites for their duties, to offer praise and to assist the priests according to each day's requirement, and the gatekeepers by their divisions at the various gates; for this was what David, the man of God, had commanded.
וַיַּעֲמֵ֣ד כְּמִשְׁפַּ֣ט דָּֽוִיד־אָ֠בִיו אֶת־מַחְלְק֨וֹת הַכֹּהֲנִ֜ים עַל־עֲבֹדָתָ֗ם וְהַלְוִיִּ֣ם עַל־מִ֠שְׁמְרוֹתָם לְהַלֵּ֨ל וּלְשָׁרֵ֜ת נֶ֤גֶד הַכֹּֽהֲנִים֙ לִדְבַר־י֣וֹם בְּיוֹמ֔וֹ וְהַשּׁוֹעֲרִ֥ים בְּמַחְלְקוֹתָ֖ם לְשַׁ֣עַר וָשָׁ֑עַר כִּ֣י כֵ֔ן מִצְוַ֖ת דָּוִ֥יד אִישׁ־הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃
15They did not depart from the king's command concerning the priests and the Levites in any matter, including the treasuries.
וְלֹ֣א סָרוּ֩ מִצְוַ֨ת הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ עַל־הַכֹּהֲנִ֧ים וְהַלְוִיִּ֛ם לְכָל־דָּבָ֖ר וְלָאֹצָרֽוֹת׃
16So all of Solomon's work was carried out, from the day the foundation of the house of the LORD was laid until its completion. The house of the LORD was finished.
וַתִּכֹּן֙ כָּל־מְלֶ֣אכֶת שְׁלֹמֹ֔ה עַד־הַיּ֛וֹם מוּסַ֥ד בֵּית־יְהוָ֖ה וְעַד־כְּלֹת֑וֹ שָׁלֵ֖ם בֵּ֥ית יְהוָֽה׃ ס
