The Early Church's Prayer and Fellowship

After their release, the believers gathered and prayed to God, quoting Psalm 2 about the nations rising up against the Lord's Anointed. When they had prayed, the place where they were meeting shook, and all were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke God's word with boldness. The believers were one in heart and soul, held everything in common, and distributed to each as anyone had need. Joseph, whom the apostles called Barnabas (son of encouragement), sold a field and laid the money at the apostles' feet.

Actes 4,23-37

23When they were released, they went to their own people and reported everything the chief priests and the elders had said to them.
24When they heard it, they raised their voices to God with one accord and said: "Sovereign Lord, you made the heaven, the earth, the sea, and everything in them.
25You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of our father David, your servant: 'Why did the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?
ὁ ⸂τοῦ πατρὸς ἡμῶν⸃ διὰ ⸂πνεύματος ἁγίου⸃ στόματος Δαυὶδ παιδός σου εἰπών· Ἱνατί ἐφρύαξαν ἔθνη καὶ λαοὶ ἐμελέτησαν κενά;
26The kings of the earth took their stand, and the rulers gathered together against the Lord and against his Anointed.'
27Indeed, in this city Herod and Pontius Pilate, together with the Gentiles and the peoples of Israel, gathered against your holy servant Jesus, whom you anointed,
28to do whatever your hand and your will had predestined to take place.
29And now, Lord, look upon their threats and grant your servants to speak your word with all boldness,
30as you stretch out your hand to heal and to bring about signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus."
31When they had prayed, the place where they were gathered was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke the word of God with boldness.
32Now the whole company of those who believed was one in heart and soul, and no one claimed that any of his possessions was his own; instead they shared everything they had.
33With great power the apostles continued to testify to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.
34For there was not a needy person among them; all who owned lands or houses sold them, brought the proceeds of what was sold,
35and laid it at the apostles' feet; and it was distributed to each as anyone had need.
36Joseph, a Levite from Cyprus, whom the apostles called Barnabas—which means son of encouragement—
37sold a field he owned, brought the money, and laid it at the apostles' feet.
