Gases (also known as Gazzam or possibly a variant of a name from the return period) is a person mentioned in connection with Israel's return from the Babylonian exile. He is listed among the descendants of the temple servants (Nethinim) who returned to Jerusalem. His family contributed to rebuilding the service and worship of the temple.

1These are the people of the province who came up out of the captivity of the exiles, whom Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon had carried away to Babylon. They returned to Jerusalem and Judah, each to his own town.

8In the second month of the second year after their arrival at the house of God in Jerusalem, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jozadak, along with the rest of their kinsmen—the priests and the Levites and all who had come back from captivity to Jerusalem—began the work, and they appointed Levites twenty years old and upward to supervise the building of the house of the LORD.
9So Jeshua with his sons and kinsmen, and Kadmiel with his sons, the descendants of Judah, stood together to oversee those working on the house of God, along with the sons of Henadad with their sons and kinsmen, the Levites.
