Job's Restoration

After Job's great suffering, God restored his prosperity and gave him twice as much as he had before. As part of this blessing, Job received new sons and daughters.

10And when Job prayed for his friends, the LORD restored his fortunes; indeed, the LORD gave him twice as much as he had before.
12The LORD blessed the latter part of Job's life more than the first. He had fourteen thousand sheep, six thousand camels, a thousand yoke of oxen, and a thousand donkeys.
13He also had seven sons and three daughters.

The Birth of Keziah

Keziah was born as the second of Job's three daughters after the restoration. Her name means 'cassia,' which is a fragrant spice plant.

14He named the first Jemimah, the second Keziah, and the third Keren-happuch.

Known for Her Beauty

Keziah and her sisters, Jemimah and Keren-Happuch, were described as the most beautiful women in all the land. Their beauty was especially highlighted in Scripture.

15Nowhere in all the land were there women as beautiful as Job's daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance among their brothers.

Received an Inheritance Among Brothers

In an unusual act for the culture of that time, Job gave his daughters, including Keziah, an inheritance among their brothers. This demonstrated Job's righteousness and generosity.

15Nowhere in all the land were there women as beautiful as Job's daughters, and their father granted them an inheritance among their brothers.

Part of Job's Blessed Old Age

Kezia was part of the great blessing Job experienced in his later years. Job lived 140 years after his restoration and saw four generations of his descendants.

16After this Job lived a hundred and forty years, and he saw his children and their children to the fourth generation.
17And so Job died, old and full of days.
