La créationPatriarchc. 3130–2353 BC (lived 777 years)
Lamech was the son of Methuselah and the father of Noah. He is known for his prophetic utterance at Noah's birth, where he expressed hope for comfort from the curse on the earth. He lived in the ninth generation from Adam and died a few years before the flood.
When Lamech was 182 years old, he had a son and named him Noah, saying: 'He will comfort us in our labor and the toil of our hands on the ground that the Lord has cursed.'
29He named him Noah, saying, "This one will bring us relief from our work and from the painful toil of our hands, because of the ground that the LORD has cursed."
