Histoire

Historically, the year 164 BC can be linked to the Maccabees' rededication of the Temple in Jerusalem after its desecration by Antiochus IV Epiphanes. This event is celebrated through the festival of Hanukkah (see 1 Macc 4:36–59). Although the year itself is historically significant, the number 164 is not attributed any symbolic value in Jewish or Christian tradition.
