Judgment on Edom
Edom is judged because they acted vengefully against the house of Judah. The land shall become a wasteland from Teman, and the inhabitants of Dedan shall fall by the sword. The Lord's vengeance will be carried out through Israel.
Hesekiel 25,12-14
12This is what the Lord GOD says: Because Edom took revenge on the house of Judah, and by so doing incurred grievous guilt and avenged itself upon them,
כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה יַ֣עַן עֲשׂ֥וֹת אֱד֛וֹם בִּנְקֹ֥ם נָקָ֖ם לְבֵ֣ית יְהוּדָ֑ה וַיֶּאְשְׁמ֥וּ אָשׁ֖וֹם וְנִקְּמ֥וּ בָהֶֽם׃
13therefore this is what the Lord GOD says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off from it both man and beast. I will make it a wasteland; from Teman to Dedan they will fall by the sword.
לָכֵ֗ן כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה וְנָטִ֤תִי יָדִי֙ עַל־אֱד֔וֹם וְהִכְרַתִּ֥י מִמֶּ֖נָּה אָדָ֣ם וּבְהֵמָ֑ה וּנְתַתִּ֤יהָ חָרְבָּה֙ מִתֵּימָ֔ן וּדְדָ֖נֶה בַּחֶ֥רֶב יִפֹּֽלוּ׃
14I will take my vengeance on Edom by the hand of my people Israel. They will deal with Edom according to my anger and my wrath, and Edom will know my vengeance, declares the Lord GOD.
וְנָתַתִּ֨י אֶת־נִקְמָתִ֜י בֶּאֱד֗וֹם בְּיַד֙ עַמִּ֣י יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל וְעָשׂ֣וּ בֶאֱד֔וֹם כְּאַפִּ֖י וְכַחֲמָתִ֑י וְיָֽדְעוּ֙ אֶת־נִקְמָתִ֔י נְאֻ֖ם אֲדֹנָ֥י יְהוִֽה׃ פ
