Peter's Speech at Solomon's Colonnade

After healing the lame man, Peter speaks boldly to the people at Solomon's Colonnade about Jesus being the prophet Moses foretold and calls the people to repentance.

Apostlagärningarna 3,11-26

11While he clung to Peter and John, all the people came running together to them in the colonnade called Solomon's, utterly astonished.
12When Peter saw this, he said to the people: "Men of Israel, why are you amazed at this? And why do you stare at us, as though by our own power or godliness we had made this man walk?
ἰδὼν δὲ ⸀ὁ Πέτρος ἀπεκρίνατο πρὸς τὸν λαόν· Ἄνδρες Ἰσραηλῖται, τί θαυμάζετε ἐπὶ τούτῳ, ἢ ἡμῖν τί ἀτενίζετε ὡς ἰδίᾳ δυνάμει ἢ εὐσεβείᾳ πεποιηκόσιν τοῦ περιπατεῖν αὐτόν;
13The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his servant Jesus, whom you handed over and disowned before Pilate, even when he had decided to release him.
14You disowned the Holy and Righteous One and asked for a murderer to be released to you,
15and you killed the Author of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this we are witnesses.
16And it is his name, through faith in his name, that has made this man strong, the man you see and know; and the faith that comes through Jesus has given him this complete healing before you all.
17And now, brothers, I know that you acted in ignorance, as did your rulers.
18But in this way God fulfilled what he had foretold through the mouth of all the prophets: that his Christ would suffer.
19So repent and turn back, that your sins may be wiped out,
20that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord, and that he may send the Christ appointed for you, Jesus,
21whom heaven must receive until the time comes for the restoration of all things, of which God spoke through the mouth of his holy prophets long ago.
22Moses said: 'The Lord your God will raise up for you a prophet like me from among your brothers. Listen to him in everything he tells you.'
23'And everyone who does not listen to that prophet will be utterly cut off from the people.'
24Indeed, all the prophets from Samuel onward, all who spoke, also announced these days.
25You are the sons of the prophets and of the covenant God made with your fathers when he said to Abraham, 'And in your offspring all the families of the earth will be blessed.'
26God raised up his servant and sent him first to you, to bless you by turning each of you from your wickedness."
