The Cost of Following Jesus
A scribe comes to Jesus and says that he will follow him wherever he goes. Jesus answers that the foxes have dens and the birds have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head. Another disciple asks first to go and bury his father, but Jesus says: "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."
Matteusevangeliet 8,19-22
19A scribe came to him and said, "Teacher, I will follow you wherever you go."
20Jesus replied, "Foxes have dens and birds of the sky have nests, but the Son of Man has nowhere to lay his head."
21Another of the disciples said to him, "Lord, let me first go and bury my father."
22But Jesus said to him, "Follow me, and let the dead bury their own dead."
