The Land Becomes Like the Garden of Eden
The Lord promises through Ezekiel that when He cleanses the people from sin, the ruined cities will be rebuilt and the desolate land cultivated so that it becomes like the Garden of Eden. The surrounding nations will know that the Lord has restored what was destroyed. He also promises to make the people as numerous as the flocks in Jerusalem during the festivals Ezekiel 36:33-38.
Hesekiel 36,33-38
33This is what the Lord GOD says: On the day I cleanse you from all your sins, I will resettle the cities, and the ruins will be rebuilt.
כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה בְּיוֹם֙ טַהֲרִ֣י אֶתְכֶ֔ם מִכֹּ֖ל עֲוֺנֽוֹתֵיכֶ֑ם וְהֽוֹשַׁבְתִּי֙ אֶת־הֶ֣עָרִ֔ים וְנִבְנ֖וּ הֶחֳרָבֽוֹת׃
34The desolate land will be cultivated again, in place of the wasteland it once was before the eyes of all who passed by.
וְהָאָ֥רֶץ הַנְּשַׁמָּ֖ה תֵּֽעָבֵ֑ד תַּ֚חַת אֲשֶׁ֣ר הָיְתָ֣ה שְׁמָמָ֔ה לְעֵינֵ֖י כָּל־עוֹבֵֽר׃
35They will say, "This land that lay desolate has become like the garden of Eden, and the cities that were ruined, wasted, and torn down are now fortified and inhabited."
וְאָמְר֗וּ הָאָ֤רֶץ הַלֵּ֙זוּ֙ הַנְּשַׁמָּ֔ה הָיְתָ֖ה כְּגַן־עֵ֑דֶן וְהֶעָרִ֧ים הֶחֳרֵב֛וֹת וְהַֽנְשַׁמּ֥וֹת וְהַנֶּהֱרָס֖וֹת בְּצוּר֥וֹת יָשָֽׁבוּ׃
36Then the nations that remain around you will know that I, the LORD, have rebuilt what was torn down and replanted what was desolate. I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will do it.
וְיָדְע֣וּ הַגּוֹיִ֗ם אֲשֶׁ֣ר יִֽשָּׁאֲרוּ֮ סְבִיבוֹתֵיכֶם֒ כִּ֣י ׀ אֲנִ֣י יְהוָ֗ה בָּנִ֙יתִי֙ הַנֶּ֣הֱרָס֔וֹת נָטַ֖עְתִּי הַנְּשַׁמָּ֑ה אֲנִ֥י יְהוָ֖ה דִּבַּ֥רְתִּי וְעָשִֽׂיתִי׃ ס
37This is what the Lord GOD says: Once again I will let myself be sought by the house of Israel, and this I will do for them: I will multiply them like a flock — a flock of people.
כֹּ֤ה אָמַר֙ אֲדֹנָ֣י יְהוִ֔ה ע֗וֹד זֹ֛את אִדָּרֵ֥שׁ לְבֵֽית־יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל לַעֲשׂ֣וֹת לָהֶ֑ם אַרְבֶּ֥ה אֹתָ֛ם כַּצֹּ֖אן אָדָֽם׃
38Like the flocks set apart for sacrifice, like the flocks in Jerusalem at her appointed feasts, so the ruined cities will be filled with flocks of people. Then they will know that I am the LORD.
כְּצֹ֣אן קָֽדָשִׁ֗ים כְּצֹ֤אן יְרוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ בְּמ֣וֹעֲדֶ֔יהָ כֵּ֤ן תִּהְיֶ֙ינָה֙ הֶעָרִ֣ים הֶחֳרֵב֔וֹת מְלֵא֖וֹת צֹ֣אן אָדָ֑ם וְיָדְע֖וּ כִּֽי־אֲנִ֥י יְהוָֽה׃ ס
