Running toward the Goal

Paul explains that he has not already reached the goal or become perfect, but presses on toward it because he himself has been grasped by Christ. He forgets what is behind and reaches forward to what lies ahead, pressing on toward the prize of victory at God's heavenly call in Christ Jesus.

Filipperbrevet 3,12-14

12Not that I have already obtained it or have already been made perfect, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ took hold of me.
13Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it yet. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining toward what lies ahead,
14I press on toward the goal, to win the prize of God's heavenly call in Christ Jesus.
