Ben-Hajil was one of the princes whom King Jehoshaphat of Judah sent out to teach the people the law of the Lord. He was part of a group of leaders who traveled through the cities of Judah together with Levites and priests to teach the people God's word. His service was an important part of Jehoshaphat's religious reform program.
