Jehdeiah was a Levite who lived in the period following the return from the Babylonian exile. He is mentioned in the book of Nehemiah as one who helped the people understand God's law and sealed the covenant to follow the Lord's commands. The name Jehdeiah means 'the glory of the Lord' and is borne by several individuals in the Old Testament.

Jehdeiah was among the Levites who helped the people understand the law when Ezra read it aloud to the assembly.
7And Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah—the Levites—explained the Law to the people while they remained in their places.
9Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and scribe, and the Levites who were teaching the people said to them all, "This day is holy to the LORD your God. Do not mourn or weep." For all the people had been weeping as they heard the words of the Law.
5Then the Levites—Jeshua, Kadmiel, Bani, Hashabneiah, Sherebiah, Hodiah, Shebaniah, and Pethahiah—said: "Stand up and bless the LORD your God from everlasting to everlasting." "Blessed be your glorious name, which is exalted above every blessing and praise.
As part of entering into the covenant, Hodija and the other leaders pledged to follow God's law given through Moses, and to avoid intermarriage and Sabbath violations.
29The rest of the people—the priests, the Levites, the gatekeepers, the singers, the temple servants, and all who had separated themselves from the peoples of the lands in order to follow the Law of God, together with their wives, their sons, and their daughters, all who had the knowledge to understand—
7And Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, and Pelaiah—the Levites—explained the Law to the people while they remained in their places.
