The Jerahmeelites in David's Time

David's connection with the Jerahmeelites is documented when he stayed in the Negev wilderness. David sent part of the war spoils to the cities of the Jerahmeelites as a diplomatic gesture.

10When Achish asked, "Where did you raid today?" David would answer, "Against the Negev of Judah," or "Against the Negev of the Jerahmeelites," or "Against the Negev of the Kenites."
29to those in Racal, in the towns of the Jerahmeelites and the towns of the Kenites;

Jerahmeelite Territory

The Jerahmeelites had their territory in the southern part of the Negev. This area was known as the Negev of the Jerahmeelites and was a distinct region in southern Judah.

10When Achish asked, "Where did you raid today?" David would answer, "Against the Negev of Judah," or "Against the Negev of the Jerahmeelites," or "Against the Negev of the Kenites."
