Hem Personer Meraja Meraja was a head of a priestly family in Jerusalem after the return from the Babylonian exile. He served as leader of the priestly line of Seraiah during the days of the high priest Jehoiakim. He is mentioned in the book of Nehemiah in connection with the registration of priestly family heads.

12 In the days of Joiakim these were the priests who were heads of the fathers' houses: of Seraiah, Meraiah; of Jeremiah, Hananiah; hebr וּבִימֵי֙ יֽוֹיָקִ֔ים הָי֥וּ כֹהֲנִ֖ים רָאשֵׁ֣י הָאָב֑וֹת לִשְׂרָיָ֣ה מְרָיָ֔ה לְיִרְמְיָ֖ה חֲנַנְיָֽה׃
26 These served in the days of Joiakim son of Jeshua, son of Jozadak, and in the days of Nehemiah the governor and of Ezra the priest and scribe. hebr אֵ֕לֶּה בִּימֵ֛י יוֹיָקִ֥ים בֶּן־יֵשׁ֖וּעַ בֶּן־יוֹצָדָ֑ק וּבִימֵי֙ נְחֶמְיָ֣ה הַפֶּחָ֔ה וְעֶזְרָ֥א הַכֹּהֵ֖ן הַסּוֹפֵֽר׃ פ
Meraja belonged to the priestly lineage of Seraiah, a prominent priestly family that had responsibility in the temple.

Under the high priest Jehoiakim's leadership, Meraja and other priestly heads served as leaders for their respective families in temple service.
