Siha

Temple Servant After the Exile

Även känd som: Shallum

ÅterkomstenLeaderc. 500s BC

Siha (also spelled Siaha) was the ancestor of a family of temple servants (Nethinim) who returned from the Babylonian exile to Jerusalem. His descendants are mentioned among those who served at the temple after its rebuilding. Although he is a lesser-known biblical figure, his mention shows that temple service was restored with great accuracy after the exile.

The Role of Temple Servants in the Rebuilding

The temple servants, including the descendants of Shallum, settled in their towns and contributed to rebuilding religious life in Jerusalem after the exile.

70So the priests, the Levites, some of the people, the singers, the gatekeepers, and the temple servants settled in their towns, and all Israel in their towns.
