Jashobeam was the leader of David's three mightiest warriors, known as 'The Three'. He was a Hakmonite who distinguished himself by killing 300 (according to Chronicles) or 800 (according to Samuel) enemies with his spear in a single battle. He was one of the most prominent and brave warriors in King David's army.

9Next to him was Eleazar son of Dodo son of Ahohi, one of the three mighty men with David when they defied the Philistines who had gathered there for battle, and the men of Israel withdrew.
*ואחרו **וְאַחֲרָ֛יו אֶלְעָזָ֥ר בֶּן־*דדי **דֹּד֖וֹ בֶּן־אֲחֹחִ֑י בִּשְׁלֹשָׁ֨ה *גברים **הַגִּבֹּרִ֜ים עִם־דָּוִ֗ד בְּחָֽרְפָ֤ם בַּפְּלִשְׁתִּים֙ נֶאֶסְפוּ־שָׁ֣ם לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה וַֽיַּעֲל֖וּ אִ֥ישׁ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃
10He stood his ground and struck down the Philistines until his hand grew weary and froze to his sword. The LORD brought about a great victory that day, and the troops came back to him only to strip the dead.

11Next to him was Shammah son of Agee the Hararite. The Philistines had massed at Lehi, where there was a field full of lentils, and the troops fled from the Philistines.
וְאַחֲרָ֛יו שַׁמָּ֥א בֶן־אָגֵ֖א הָרָרִ֑י וַיֵּאָסְפ֨וּ פְלִשְׁתִּ֜ים לַחַיָּ֗ה וַתְּהִי־שָׁ֞ם חֶלְקַ֤ת הַשָּׂדֶה֙ מְלֵאָ֣ה עֲדָשִׁ֔ים וְהָעָ֥ם נָ֖ס מִפְּנֵ֥י פְלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
12But he took his stand in the middle of the field, defended it, and struck the Philistines down, and the LORD brought about a great victory.
וַיִּתְיַצֵּ֤ב בְּתוֹךְ־הַֽחֶלְקָה֙ וַיַּצִּילֶ֔הָ וַיַּ֖ךְ אֶת־פְּלִשְׁתִּ֑ים וַיַּ֥עַשׂ יְהוָ֖ה תְּשׁוּעָ֥ה גְדוֹלָֽה׃ ס
10These are the chiefs of David's mighty men, who together with all Israel gave his kingship strong support to make him king, as the LORD had promised concerning Israel.

13He was with David at Pas Dammim when the Philistines gathered there for battle. There was a plot of ground full of barley, and the troops fled before the Philistines.
הֽוּא־הָיָ֨ה עִם־דָּוִ֜יד בַּפַּ֣ס דַּמִּ֗ים וְהַפְּלִשְׁתִּים֙ נֶאֱסְפוּ־שָׁ֣ם לַמִּלְחָמָ֔ה וַתְּהִ֛י חֶלְקַ֥ת הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה מְלֵאָ֣ה שְׂעוֹרִ֑ים וְהָעָ֥ם נָ֖סוּ מִפְּנֵ֥י פְלִשְׁתִּֽים׃
