Mentioned among the sons of Obed-Edom

Peulletai is listed as the eighth son of Obed-Edom in the register of Levitical gatekeepers organized during David's reign.

5Ammiel the sixth, Issachar the seventh, Peullethai the eighth—for God had blessed him.

Obed-Edom's Family Blessed by God

The Bible tells us that God blessed Obed-Edom and all his household, resulting in many sons and descendants, including Peulletai.

4Obed-edom also had sons: Shemaiah the firstborn, Jehozabad the second, Joah the third, Sachar the fourth, Nethanel the fifth,

Organization of Gatekeeping Service

David organized the Levites into divisions for temple service, and Obed-Edom's sons, including Peulletai, were assigned gatekeeping duties at the storehouses on the south side.

15To Obed-edom fell the south, and to his sons the storehouse.

The Lord's Ark in Obed-Edom's House

Before Peulletai's time, the Lord's ark had been kept in Obed-Edom's house for three months, and the Lord blessed Obed-Edom and all his household during that period.

10So David was unwilling to bring the ark of the LORD up to himself in the City of David; instead he turned it aside to the house of Obed-edom the Gittite.
11The ark of the LORD remained in the house of Obed-edom the Gittite three months, and the LORD blessed Obed-edom and his entire household.
12King David was told, "The LORD has blessed the house of Obed-edom and all that belongs to him because of the ark of God." So David went and brought the ark of God up from the house of Obed-edom to the City of David with rejoicing.
